HOW DO WE KNOW 

  The way our lives will go?

HOW CAN WE SEE

The way we might be?

HOW CAN WE ANSWER

The questions not asked?

HOW CAN WE REMEMBER

The life that's not passed?

IT SEEMS TO BE

IF we must see 

WE CAN ASK A BIRD

Or ask a tree

I DOES NOT MATTER

Who we ask

AS THE ANSWER IS LIKELY

In our Past

SO HOW WILL WE KNOW

The way our life will go

IF ONLY WE COULD KNOW 

What our future might show

WOULD WE BE HAPPY TO KNOW 

Just where we would go

AND LOOK AHEAD

to that which is  dear

Or WAIT AND TO  BE 

What we though we would see

AND WHAT IF We'd  SEE

The future of ME? 

BUT WHAT IF THAT VERSION

Was far in the future

AND YOU FOUND YOUR SELF

WAS Deep in the past

SO PONDER THE QUESTION 

Can I live in the Past?

AND IF I MADE THAT DECISION

How long would it last? 

 WE MIGHT THINK TIME IS NORMAL

But how long CAN it last?

IN FACT

WHAT IF OUR FUTURE 

IS really our past?
